The Celsius LeDIX - the S$500,000 Handphone  7 Comments

The LeDIX Papillon Mobile Handphone is a mechanical marvel. A handbuilt tourbillon movement powered by the simple opening of the clamshell designed top half - exhibits an exquisite see through movement. A fusion of mechanical and electronic technologies. Just recently launched and now seen here in Singapore at its authorised dealers - The Hour Glass. Not a small mobile phone by today's standards but it is clearly well made with every detail carefully designed and made. Even the case that the phone comes in looks almost like a dressing table on its own. It features all the necessary accessories including a leather holster to be worn under a jacket and a system of hand strap locks and ear pieces that are mechanical marvels on their own. The brand will produce about 10 pieces a year and will continue to push the boundaries of how mechanical technology can replace electronic. Every concieveable effort to develop new technologies - including how the tourbillon movement is being shielded from magnetism and being automatically demagnetised by patented technology. The CEO of CELSIUS Mr Edouard Meylan kindly modelled the phone in action.
