With the escalation of prices over recent months at a rate never before seen nor anticipated, it would seem that for many of the more astute collectors are now returning to classical collecting - which is to collect important historical pieces of note either due to its innovation, quality, movement design or just beauty.
A fellow collector, Raphmeister a handle that he uses on his blog called Tapestry of Time, shared with me his latest acquisitions - both are pocket watch movements. One a Chain and Fusee pocket movement with a huge balance wheel shown here. The other is a quarter repeater which he successfully recased into a watch.
