IWC Vintage Platinum Portofino Images  0 Comments

A few days ago at the launch party, I managed to photograph the Platinum Limited Edition Vintage Portofino. Here are the images of this beautiful piece put together on a webpage.
The classic looking watch which is a homage of the original Portofino moonphase, is an accurate replica save for the relocation of the two subdials at 12 and 6 rather than the original 9 and 3.
A huge watch at 46mm in diameter with a thin bezel, the watch looks enormous on the wrist. In my opinion almost much too big for a classical or dress watch. However it one is willing to accept that its a pocket watch on your wrist it may be workable.
With only 500 pieces being made for this model, I thought it may just be as well, as its list price at about SGD70,000. As aesthetically handsome this watch may be, I personally think that at this price point, the watch may is not as desirable as the first impression. There are many other watches in that price bracket that has higher pedigree, complications and desirability.
